Young people today are growing up in a world that can feel increasingly difficult to navigate. Pressure at school, social media, worries about the future, relationships, identity and the need to fit in can all affect a young person’s confidence and wellbeing. For some, these pressures are compounded by inequality, limited opportunities or a lack of spaces where they genuinely feel understood.
At Integrate Hope, we believe support should not begin only when something has gone wrong. It should begin with belonging.
Creating spaces where young people can be themselves
A positive community space can offer something incredibly simple but powerful: somewhere a young person knows they are welcome.
Our approach is built around relationships. We create opportunities for young people to connect with positive role models, develop skills, talk openly, take part in activities and build relationships with people they trust.
Sometimes support looks like a structured programme. At other times, it is a conversation, encouragement from a mentor or simply having somewhere positive to spend time.
Through our work, Integrate Hope has engaged more than 150 boys and young men, with more than 110 completing a structured 12-week programme.
But numbers only tell part of the story. What matters is creating environments where young people feel that something is being built with them, rather than simply delivered to them.

Prevention starts before crisis
Early intervention is often discussed in terms of preventing crime, poor mental health or disengagement from education. But prevention can also be much more human.
It can mean helping someone discover something they are good at. Introducing them to a positive adult. Helping them imagine a career they had never considered. Giving them the confidence to speak. Creating friendships and community around them.
These experiences build protective factors long before a young person reaches crisis.
Our commitment
As Integrate Hope continues to grow its work with children and young people, we want young people’s voices to remain at the centre.
We want to create spaces that build confidence, aspiration, emotional wellbeing, skills and connection, while giving young people opportunities to shape what comes next.
Because every young person deserves more than somewhere to go. They deserve somewhere they belong.
